Animal Mobile Medical Ambulance (1962)

Introduction

The 1962 Animal Mobile Medical Ambulance service was launched in the state in 2019 as a dedicated initiative to provide emergency veterinary care. It serves as a crucial support system for providing timely medical attention to animals in distress across both rural and urban areas.

Call Centre Operations

The service is supported by a 24x7 operational call centre, accessible through the toll-free number 1962. The call centre acts as a central point for receiving animal emergency cases and coordinating with field ambulances for timely response.

Animal Ambulance Coverage and Timing

32 Animal Ambulances are deployed across the state. These ambulances are operational every day from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. They respond to calls received through the 1962 helpline and are dispatched accordingly to the location of the reported animal in need.

Facilities & Services Provided

• Each ambulance is equipped with medical supplies and basic veterinary equipment necessary for first aid and emergency treatment.
• Veterinary Doctor and trained Para veterinarian onboard the ambulance provide immediate on-site emergency veterinary care at free of cost.
• The ambulance is also designed to transport animals to nearby Government veterinary institutions for further treatment if required.
• Animals with serious conditions are stabilized and referred to the nearest Veterinary Institution.
