Overview of Mobile Veterinary Units (MVUs)
Mobile Veterinary Units are established for increased access to veterinary services in remote villages. Four-wheeler vehicles are modified to function as Mobile Veterinary Units. These vehicles are customized with essential equipment, including:
- Disease diagnosis & treatment tools
- Minor surgery instruments
- Sample collection kits
- Liquid nitrogen container & vaccine carrier
- Mini-refrigerator for medicines
- Artificial insemination kits for cattle & buffaloes
Each MVU accommodates one veterinarian, one para-veterinarian, and a driver cum attendant.
Operations & Service Delivery
Call Centre (1962) operates 24×7 and directs MVUs during operation hours.
MVU Working Hours
- 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Mon-Sat): Regular village routes/camps.
- 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Emergency cases as directed by the 1962 Call Centre.
- Sundays: MVUs attend emergency cases assigned via helpline 1962.
