Objective
To provide total veterinary health care facilities both preventive and curative to livestock and poultry reared by farmers in remote inaccessible villages at free of cost and creating awareness on Animal Husbandry practices among the farmers.
Implementing Areas
The camps will be conducted in remote Rural Panchayats of all the districts of the State except Chennai at the rate of 20 camps in each block per year, conducting 7,760 camps in 388 blocks.
Activities in the Camps
- In these camps, various health care activities of both preventive and curative like treatment of ailing animals, deworming, preventive vaccination against diseases, castration, artificial insemination, infertility treatments, pregnancy verification, minor surgeries like CLP, specialized gynecological assistance etc., will be carried out at free of cost along with distribution of mineral mixtures.
- Moreover during the camp, relevant pamphlets on improving the animal production will be distributed. Various exhibits depicting scientific animal husbandry practices, state and central government schemes, etc will also be displayed.
- Best three farmers will be awarded. Calf rally will be conducted and prizes will be distributed.
- These camps will be conducted in collaboration with experts from TANUVAS, Animal Disease Intelligence units and Cattle Breeding Fodder Development units so that various welfare measures will reach the needy farmers at free of cost.

Outcome
Since the camps are being conducted in the remote inaccessible areas, the animal husbandry and veterinary services are being extended to nook and corner of the state. Also it will make the schemes and programmes implemented by the department more transparent to the public.
